I personally worked with the subs who were working on my home. Instead of trying to explain things to a builder, who would then turn around and explain to subs – I spoke directly to the subs, and they did it the way I wanted it.

They didn’t just give us a lot of papers and notebooks and turn me loose. They were on the phone with me whenever I needed them, and often at my building site. We built our dream home in Applewood, including a 1000 sq ft garage!

When we embarked on the adventure of building our own home, we did not want to hand it all over to a general contractor. We wanted to be actively involved and physically working on the project.
